Lake Light Sculpture: 2023 STREET EDITION
MAJOR AWARD – $15,000
The Major Award for Lake Light Sculpture will be presented to the artist or collaboration that demonstrates creativity, technical skill, and site specificity for Jindabyne. This award recognises the creative interpretation of their stated subject – supported by their artist statement, expression of meaning and overall aesthetic. The quality of design, technical skill in execution and construction, material selection and precision of finish will be assessed by the judging panel, alongside the awareness of the site in Jindabyne and access for all round viewing.

ENVIRONMENT AWARD – $7,000
The Environment Award recognises the relevance of the work to the Snowy Mountains and is made in response to an environmental issue, the environment itself via realistic, abstract, expressive, symbolic or decorative means.

DISRUPTION AWARD – $2,500
The Disruption Award has been named in honour of our departing Artistic Director, Ben Eyles and will be presented to an artist for an edgy work that responds to politics, or is created in a street style.

Thredbo EMERGING ARTIST AWARD – $2,000
This Award will be presented to an artist in their first 5 years of practice and in their first year in Lake Light Sculpture.

Snowy Hydro YOUTH AWARD – $1,500
This Award is presented to an artist aged 12-24 years of age and will be awarded to the youth artist who demonstrates creativity, expression of meaning and accomplished techniques of construction.

Sense of humour, using found objects to create an emotional expression. Minimal – quite sophisticated in its approach to explain the narrative despite the simple/pared back approach to construction.
Snowy Hydro SCHOOLS AWARD – $1,500
This Award is one that all School entries in the event are eligible for, and will be presented to a school group who have completed a sculptural work as a group, responding to the concept of an outdoor installation with creativity and meaning.

Perisher PRIMARY & EARLY CHILDHOOD AWARD – $1,500
This Award is one that all Primary School & Early Childhood entries in the event are eligible for, and will be presented to a primary school or early childhood group who have completed a sculptural work as a group, responding to the concept of an outdoor installation with creativity and meaning.

Snowy Hydro COMMUNITY AWARD – $1,500
This Award will be presented to a community group who have completed a sculptural work as a group, responding to the concept of an outdoor installation with creativity and meaning. Previous participants have included the CWA, Pony Club, Snowy Monaro Community Connections.
