    Your entry must not include sharp or dangerous parts that may cause injury to the public whilst on display. Entries that are deemed potentially harmful will not be accepted until modification has been made to make the entry safe to the satisfaction of the LLS Artistic Director.

    Terms and Conditions of Entry

    Please read the terms and conditions below and click submit for your entry to be processed.
    Lake Light Sculpture (LLS) Incorporated is a not for profit association and is managed by the Lake Light Sculpture Volunteer Management Committee.

    By submitting your entry, you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of the 2021 Lake Light Sculpture exhibition.

    1. GENERAL
    1.1. LLS is open to all types and forms of sculptures.
    1.2. All entries must be submitted on the 2021 LLS entry form, available online at www.lakelightsculpture.com.au
    1.3. Multiple entries will be accepted but need to be submitted separately. See instructions at the end of your first entry.
    1.4. Acceptance of entries is at the discretion of the Volunteer Management Committee.
    1.5. Late entries will not be considered.
    1.6. Site allocation is limited and allocation will be decided by the Artistic Director and the Management Committee.

    2. OUTDOOR SCULPTURE EXHIBITION – INSTALLATION DEADLINES & IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
    2.1. Installation of sculptures will take place on Wednesday 31st March and Thursday 1st April 2021.
    2.2. There will be access to a HIAB crane from Noon to 2pm on Wednesday 31st March only. If you require usage of the crane for your installation, please contact Artistic Director, Ben Eyles, on 0410 583 769 to book and finalise these arrangements by Wednesday 24th March 2021.
    2.3. Please be realistic about the time and assistance you may require for installing and removing your sculpture.
    2.4. Outdoor sculptures must be fully installed by 2pm on Thursday 1st April 2021 before judging commences at 3:00pm.
    2.5. All artists will be asked to exit the site by 2pm even if their installations are not complete. Failure to comply with this condition may result in entry being disqualified from judging.
    2.6. Artists are responsible for the transportation of sculptures to and from the exhibition site, installation (refer also to Section 9 below) and the removal of all packaging and associated material to ensure the site looks akin to a professional viewing gallery.

    3. INDOOR (SMALL) SCULPTURE EXHIBITION – INSTALLATION DEADLINES & IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
    3.1. Indoor Sculptures can be delivered to Rydges - Snowy Mountains, 10 Kosciuszko Road, Jindabyne between Noon to 4pm Wednesday 31st March 2021 and 11am to 1pm Thursday 1st April 2021 only.
    3.2. Indoor (Small) sculptures must be delivered by no later than 1pm Thursday 1st April 2021.
    3.3. Failure to comply with condition 3.2 may result in entry being disqualified from judging.
    3.4. Artists are responsible for the transportation of sculptures to and from the exhibition site, installation (refer also to Section 9 below) and the removal of all packaging and associated material to ensure the site looks akin to a professional viewing gallery.

    4. DE-INSTALLATION – BOTH OUTDOOR & INDOOR EXHIBITIONS
    4.1. The event is advertised as open for public viewing until Noon on Monday 5th April 2021. Accordingly, and due to safety considerations, under no circumstances can artworks be removed from the exhibitions before this time.
    4.2. All artworks must be removed by 5pm Monday 5th April 2021.
    4.3. No security is employed after 4pm Monday 5th April 2021.
    4.4. Failure to comply with condition 4.1 may disqualify you for acceptance into future exhibitions.
    4.5. Costs incurred in removal of sculptures remaining after 5pm Monday 5th April 2021 will be billed to the sculptor.

    5. ENTRY FEES
    5.1. Entry fees are not refundable.
    5.2. Entry fees can be paid by cash, cheque or direct deposit. Cheques must be made out to Lake Light Sculpture Incorporated. Direct deposits must reference the artist name.

    5.3. Please forward a copy of the EFT direct deposit receipt to [email protected] if payment is made by this method.

    6. JUDGING AND AWARDS
    6.1. Judging will commence Thursday 9th April 2021 from 3:00pm.
    6.2. All prizes are non-negotiable.
    6.3. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
    6.4. All prize money is subject to change at the discretion of the LLS Management Committee and artists will be advised by email.

    7. SCULPTURE SALES
    7.1. Advise a nominated price if you wish to sell your sculpture. Minimum sale price $50. POA or EOI will not be accepted.
    7.2. All sale prices of works will be deemed absolute and final from the date entries are accepted.
    7.3. 25% commission applies to all sales from the event, including sales of acquisitive prizes, and for a period of 3 months after the event.
    7.4. It is anticipated that large sculptures will be delivered to the purchaser by the artist. As such, no additional delivery charges will be negotiated by the Management Committee. Please keep this in mind when determining your sales price which will be published in the catalogue.
    7.5. No independent transactions will be made by the artist.
    7.6. Failure to comply with condition 7.4 &/or 7.5 may result in the artist being disqualified from future events.
    7.7. Multiple sculptures must have identifying numbers and pricing. Tags to facilitate this are located at the Exhibition Entry Tent. Please liaise with the Treasurer, Annette Findlay, to obtain a numbering sequence prior to installation which correlates to our sales register.
    7.8. We ask that you remain contactable during the entire event in case the committee needs to contact you regarding your sculpture sale or an enquiry.
    7.9. Artists may contact the Management Committee on 0477 514 050 from 6pm Sunday 4th April 2021 to enquire whether their artwork/s have sold to determine whether they need to return to remove work on Monday 5th April 2021.

    8. SITES
    8.1. Power is only provided in specific areas. These areas include the full length of the exhibition area on the southern (town) side of the path and the large flat area at the western (caravan park) end of the event. The power usage is limited to 200 watts per site.
    8.2. Nominate 2 site zones on the map and indicate if power is required.
    8.3. Sculptures should be viewable from the pathway and not require viewers to walk off the path.
    8.4. There is no guarantee that nominated sites will be allocated or that power will be available. There is power available for 40 of the 60 sites.
    8.5. Sites are within zones. Multiple sculptures can fit within certain zones, size permitting

    9. SAFETY & DISPLAY
    9.1. Applicants should consider:
    9.1.1. the safety and impact of the environment, landscape & public when driving to and from installation sites
    9.1.2. possible site locations
    9.1.3. lighting requirements ensuring electrical equipment is suitable for outdoor use
    9.1.4. ease of installation and removal
    9.1.5. impact on the environment
    9.1.6. safety of viewers – no sharp protruding edges, a secure base
    9.1.7. extreme weather conditions, high winds
    9.1.8. restrictions and amendments to sites may occur due to safety and/or environmental reasons
    9.2. Works considered unsafe or inappropriate will be deemed ineligible.
    9.3. To encourage visitors to obtain an event catalogue, no interpretative or additional signage is allowed as part of the sculpture display. The catalogue will contain the Artist’s Statement. The site will only display the catalogue number, name of artist, name of sculpture, materials & sale price. Please provide this information as part of your Artist Statement requested on the application. Note: Artist Statement should not be longer than 25 words.

    10. LIGHTING
    10.1. All entries containing their own lighting will be eligible for the Illumination Award.
    10.2. Sculptures utilising any lighting provided by the organising committee will NOT be eligible for the $5,000 Illumination Award.
    10.3. The Management Committee reserves the right to illuminate entries after judging has concluded if we believe this will enhance the exhibition to the viewing public &/or for reasons of safety.
    10.4. Peripheral exhibition lighting will be set by the Site Manager and/or site electrician if requested; however, your input into lighting your work is vital as to how your work is viewed during the evening. Please take some time to consider this and to provide the appropriate lighting equipment for this.
    10.5. Please consider other artists when designing your lighting. Too much light will be considered ‘light pollution’ and will have to be reduced. This will be at the discretion of the Management Committee. Contact Ben Eyles, Artistic Director, on 0410 583 769 if you wish to discuss this further.
    10.6. All artists providing their own sculpture lighting must contact event electrician, Lawson Ovens of No- Stress Electrical on 0435 427 708 when submitting their entry form to obtain clearance for their lighting requirements.
    10.7. Electrical components must not exceed 200 watts and must be tag tested by a licensed electrician to Australian electrical standards and be suitable for outdoor use. Please note: No power is provided during daylight hours.
    10.8. Lighting testing will only be conducted at 4pm Wednesday 31st March 2021. This will be your only opportunity to test your lighting prior to judging.

    11. SECURITY AND INSURANCE
    11.1. The Management Committee engages a Security Company to patrol the exhibition between the following times;
    • Installation days - Wednesday and Thursday 5pm to 8am
    • Exhibition days - Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8pm to 8am
    • Outside these times the exhibition is patrolled by the organising committee and volunteers.
    11.2. No security will be provided after 4pm on Monday 5th April 2021.
    11.3. LLS Management Committee will take precautions to minimise the risk to the sculptures exhibited.
    11.4. It is a condition of exhibiting that the artist accepts full liability for theft of and/or damage to their exhibit.
    11.5. Exhibitors are strongly advised to ensure they carry their own insurances.

    12. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
    12.1. All risk and responsibility for sculptures always remain with the artist.
    12.2. Artists agree not to issue press releases without the written consent of the Management Committee.
    12.3. By signing the entry form, artists give the Management Committee of Lake Light Sculpture Jindabyne exclusive right to reproduce images of submitted work for any purpose, including but not limited to the exhibition brochure, website promotion of the event and promotional material for future exhibitions.
    12.4 Sculptures cannot affect or damage the environment or surrounding areas in any way.
    12.5. All instructions and requests from the Management Committee, Police, Council Officers and pubic authorities must be complied with.
    12.6. All artist disputes will be adjudicated by three committee members before a decision is made. This decision is then final and no further discussion or correspondence will be entered into.
    12.7. All transactions are to occur in Australian Dollars.
    12.8. Should you wish to use images from the exhibition for whatever purpose, the organising committee must be notified prior to the use of the images. All images used must credit Lake Light Sculpture - Jindabyne.
    12.9. All entrants must remain contactable throughout the exhibition period.
    12.10. It is a condition of entry that all artists and/or their representatives always conduct themselves in a respectful manner in conversing or corresponding with the Management Committee, either prior to, or during the exhibition.
    Misconduct, includes, but is not limited to;
    12.10.1. conduct that may be reasonably perceived as harassment, intimidation, threatening, physical or emotional abuse;
    12.10.2. conduct which fails to satisfactorily comply with reasonable instruction given by a Management Committee member or members;
    12.10.3. conduct which in any way impedes the satisfactory operation of the event;
    12.10.4. conduct which is deceptive or dishonest
    and may result in the artist being dismissed from the exhibition forthwith with no further discussion or correspondence being entered into.

    13. IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER
    • Friday 26th February 2021 – Closing date for entries
    • Monday 15th March 2021 – All artists will have received confirmation and receipt of entry
    • Wednesday 24th March 2021 – If crane is required book with Ben Eyles 0410 583 769
    • Wednesday 31st March 2021 – Noon to 2pm only - Crane available
    • Wednesday 31st March and Thursday 1st April 2021 – Exhibition setup days (Refer 2.4 & 3.2 above for time deadlines)
    • Wednesday 31st March 2021 – 4pm – Only opportunity to test lighting prior to judging for Illuminated Entries
    • Thursday 1st April 2021 – 2pm – Outdoor sculpture sites to be ready for judging.
    • Thursday 1st April 2021 – 3pm – Judging of Entries. All sculptors need to be offsite so as not to impede judging or other artist sites.
    • Friday 2nd April 2021 – 10am - Opening Event and Awards Ceremony. Rydges Snowy Mountains. Due to Covid restrictions, strictly by invitation only. Results will be livestreamed on our Facebook page, Lake Light Sculpture Jindabyne.
    • Monday 5th April 2021 – 12noon – Deinstallation of sculptures
    • Monday 5th April 2021 – 4pm – No further security for sculptures
    • Monday 5th April 2021 – 5pm – Site to be fully restored and empty of all sculptural installations
