Artist Statement: After we have sacrificed natural resources to feed the A.I. machine, will we be left experiencing only artificial versions of what was once abundant in nature?
Artist Bio: Ben Eyles is a multi-disciplinary artist working across sculpture, print and murals. A former long-term resident of Jindabyne and the Snowy Mountains, he is now based in Sapphire Beach on the Coffs Coast. He has been heavily involved in the Jindabyne arts community for many years, contributing to Lake Light Sculpture as both an artist and artistic director. His sculptural practice explores the fragility of nature and the impact of human activity on its survival. He is a previous recipient of the ANU Prize, as well as Illumination and People’s Choice Awards.
