Artist Statement: Exploring fire as humanity’s first transformative technology, this work imagines a timeless debate among our ancestors — a moment of questioning around survival, intelligence and the emergence of culture.

Artist Bio: Jesse Graham is a full-time sculptor based on the far south coast of Australia. Raised in the Snowy Mountains by parents who were both artists and art teachers, he was introduced to a wide range of techniques from an early age — skills he continues to develop in his practice today. Working primarily in copper, steel and bronze, Graham focuses on competition pieces and large-scale public sculpture.
