FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lake Light Sculpture Announces Record $51,000 Prize Pool for 25th Anniversary Event

JINDABYNE, NSW — Lake Light Sculpture is proud to announce the largest prize pool in the event’s 25-year history, with a total of $51,000 to be awarded across the 2026 exhibition.

Returning to the Lake Jindabyne Foreshore over the Easter long weekend (3–6 April 2026), the milestone event will celebrate a quarter century of light, sculpture and community in the Snowy Mountains.

A headline $10,000 Major Award, proudly supported by Mountainside, will anchor the 2026 awards program - marking the most significant single prize ever offered by the volunteer-run exhibition.

Lake Light Sculpture Chair Dani Kell said the expanded prize pool reflects the strength of community backing and the event’s growing impact.

“Thanks to the incredible support of our local community and partners, we’re proud to offer the biggest prize pool in Lake Light’s history,” Kell said. “As we celebrate 25 years, it feels important to honour the artists who bring this exhibition to life each year - and to continue investing in creativity at every level.”

New Awards for 2026

In celebration of the 25th anniversary, several new awards have been introduced:

  • Local Artist Award, supported by Airbnb - recognising an artist living within the Snowy Monaro region.

  • A dedicated Local Artist Award within the Smalls category, ensuring emerging and regional creatives are acknowledged.

  • People’s Choice Awards for both day and night exhibitions - inviting visitors to experience the sculptures in different light and vote for their favourites.

The Schools and Community Awards have also been expanded to include both major and runner-up prizes, increasing meaningful financial support for participating groups and fostering stronger community engagement.

Artist Entries Extended

To mark the announcement and encourage participation in this landmark year, artist entries have been extended until 6 March 2026. Lake Light Sculpture 2026 promises to be a defining edition of the much-loved alpine event - honouring its history while continuing to evolve and grow. Artists and supporters are invited to be part of this milestone celebration.
